Cheerio desperately needed a haircut. He was coming back from his walks wet from sweating. Poor baby. So today we cut him short for summer so his morning and afternoon walks would not consist of him panting and sweating. Now I understand the phrase "Sweating like a dog" :) His hair trims always consist of alot of drama with him. Terri is such an awesome groomer and he gets treated like royalty yet he insists on shaking until I leave, then I find out from Terri he is fine. Little turkey. I think all the shaking and drama is partially to get attention from me......this is the result of his haircut......sleepy time for the little boy.........
and Today our little Shelter was finished at Duncan Lakes for our Vehicles! Yeah! Now my Ruby has shelter over her head as does Ron's pickup and our Razr! WHOOOOO!!!!

Buff & Puff.....
Today was Cheerio's 6 week Buff and puff or as other's may call it.....his grooming. My poor little boy. He gets all shaky and upset as soon as he realizes we are going to the groomers. He has such wonderful Groomers and they treat him so well, but I think he insists on torturing me. He does a pretty good job and making me feel all guilty. BUT as soon as we are done, I always reward him with a little walk and of course his special treats that he only gets when he is good boy at the groomers. I think he is starting to put two and two together. So here he is in all his groomed glory enjoying his favorite chew treat.....
This is also Day Three of Duck watch. I checked on her this morning and she was nesting. I checked on her at noon and she had shifted her position. I just checked on her now (3:17) and she is no where to be found. Probably off having something to eat......

Duck Watch - Day 2
I made sure I checked on our soon to be mother this morning. I peeked out at her in the rain and she was all nested in. The rain was missing her and she and the little egglets were nice and dry. Later in the morning I noticed that the nest was empty. She must have went to get some food. Not too much later Ron was working at his desk and noticed her walking across the street. She froze the minute she saw us. We never use to bother her but I think since the babies she is more cautious of us. I decided to get her some bread. I tore us pieces of bread and threw them on our sidewalk for her. The whole time she didn't move she just stood there without moving a muscle. Ron held onto Cheerio in the house, so he wouldn't bark at her. I finished throwing pieces of bread and came back in to watch her. I hid behind the door and waited for her to come closer..........
....and she did and gobbled up her bread.
We continued to watch her for a few minutes. Shortly after the last photo she manevuered her way back to her nest between two statues and a plastic bunny :) We were able to watch the whole thing from our office window. She has her nest far enough in the corner that we can't see the whole thing from the window but we checked on her and sure enough..........

Welcome Home
Finally arrived home from Talladega after spending the last night of our trip in Bolivar, Missouri. Nice pretty drive home, well until we got to KC, then it was the typical KC Drive. Our lunch destination included a stop at Red Robin in Omaha. Don't get to Red Robin much. I had already had the Cheeseburger I was craving way back in Arkansas, so chose the chicken strips. Of course, the bottomless fries at Red Robin are always a show stopper, and an atery clogger :) Following our stop in Omaha it was onward to home to Columbus.
After being gone from Wednesday till today, it was time to get back home and try and get back into a normal routine, however, I had all the typical catching up to do. I was busy putting stuff away from the truck when I realized it was time to get the mail. Ron was just starting to set up his computer and catch up on his email shortly before five........I went out to the mailbox and was walking in my front door when something caught my eye!
Nesting on her eggs, was the Duck I have been feeding since November. People keep telling me not to feed the ducks or they will become quite the pests but I have kind of gotten attached to her. I had NO idea she was going to have babies. I even soaked up crackers in water for her when I ran out of bread a couple of times. I immediately showed Ron and we even called the Trusty Brother-in-law Todd to make sure we shouldn't put a fence up to protect her and the kids from any stray dogs. He assured us she would be ok. She has found herself a pretty good home. I will check on her tomorrow. I am sad because it is raining on her tonight :( so I hope she sleeps good.
Of course the most important conclusion to the trip was getting to see Cheerio!!!! Here are a couple of photos of him and Ron. I thought they were cute!

The long road....
to Dega has begun. I still can't believe the weather we left in. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the start of our Trip to Talladega would begin with snow on May 1st! BUT it did!
A long road day of traveling and a brief stop in Macon, Missouri, we finally arrived in Columbia, Missouri for some rest and supper. We stayed at a nice hotel in Columbia, but I am not sure if the folks who built the hotel decided that most people who would stay in the hotel would be completely incapable of turning the shower on....
We decided to eat at the TGI Friday right next door to our hotel. Of course I HAD to have chicken wings, while waiting for our wings we were discussing my checkered flag toes and I was reminded that I hadn't taken a photo of my checkered flag and #15 fingers. They are NOT 51's by the way.... :) They are indeed 15's :) My original Clint Bowyer fingers.....

| Ron said I had to put my fingers up so we could see the 15's. The day I had my fingers and toes done in Five Hour Energy colors, he drives the Peak car......WHOOPPPSSSS... :) |
Following my overdoes of wings I was ready for bed and rest up for our Thursday road trip onward and southward toward Alabama......

Happy, Happy Happy....
everything :)
Happy Birthday to my Brother Larry D. Boschen and Happy Daytona 500 to me and Happy start of racing season Clint Bowyer.......
For the first time EVER Ron and I hosted a Daytona 500 party. It was held at our cabin at Duncan Lakes. It is NOT a good idea for me to host anything race related. I need to be totally focused on the task at hand but I did good. I was pretty much reserved. OK a little.....Clint finished 11th.......that was OK with me. I was so nervous about being caught up in the big one.......never mind.
My Most embarrasing moment was when my brother Larry called me before the race to tell me that Clint Bowyer was going to be on pre-race on a special called "Being Clint Bowyer" even though I knew about it I appreciated his reminder, but embarrassed a few hours later remembering it was my brothers birthday and I forgot to tell him happy birthday when he called me.
I love you.......HOW do we look alike? Being adopted all of us.........I have no idea, but we do.

and then there was my "boy", the love of my life, my Cheerio. He played with his Duncan Lakes Dog Friends, he ran through the cabin, he crashed after spending time with his Lake aunts.....he was Daytona 500d out :)

The Case of the Missing...
Charm Bracelet has been solved. I have been looking for my Charm Bracelet that my Grandmother had given me for about two years. I had no idea where it was for the whole time. I thought for sure, somewhere in the move I had lost it. Sunday, while Ron was in Argentina, I decided to organize my Jewelry Chest. As I was doing it, I pulled the bottom drawer out to put it on our counter to clean it. I tried to put the drawer back in and I couldn't get it to go all the way in. I looked in the back and there low and behold......was:
My pretty little charm braclet. I am keeping my eye on it now.
Meanwhile, early in the day, I decided to watch a movie in bed. It was so cold and windy that I didn't feel like moving around to much. I was fortunate enough to have my little man keeping me company and taking care of me while Ron was gone. He looked so comfortable it was not hard to cuddle.
