HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2006

As I sit here wrapping Christmas presents, listening to Christmas Carols and anticipating our first potential winter storm of the year (let it be known that I would not mind some snow)..I have been trying and trying to figure out where 2006 went and it occurred to me…..I think it might be somewhere in Kansas! For those who really watch our Auction schedule you will completely understand that comment.

We spent most of 2006 traveling from auction site to auction site, I do have to admit that it is scary when you come to a town and say “I have stayed at this hotel before”, sometimes I really MISS staying at a hotel (NOT)….ok ok I will admit, I think the fact that someone else cleans for a change makes it ok!

But traveling isn’t really as bad as it sounds. First, I think both Ron and I are getting use to being gone for weeks at a time. Here is good news, if it wasn’t like traveling with family it would be considered work….we are very fortunate to have an awesome group of hardworking and fun loving people to share our time with. We are blessed…and here is most of our blessed team and our ummmmmm blessed equipment…..AKA our homes away from home 

SO besides spending most of our time on the road…what else….in April Ron and Kristin traveled to Albuquerque NM with Kristin’s Niece Jessica and her friend Laura to sponsor the girls at the National Junior Science Conference. Uncle Ron and Aunt Kristin got to sight see, in addition to making sure that these two perfectly charming and wonderful girls behaved…..and they more then behaved…I was SOOOO proud of them. What special girls.

Putting the business stuff aside, the two of us kept busy with lots of things that we both enjoy including a summer tanking trip, lots of dirt track racing with the Anson racing team, some hunting this fall, cheering on the Huskers (baseball, football and volleyball included) , camping BUT unfortunately our trips did mean we had to sacrifice. AKA…..NO golf (which stunk), NO motorcycling (which stunk), BUT we did host friends and family at our home thanks to the pool table which seems to be the source of LOTS of entertainment.

(Below are some pictures from the summer events)
1. Andrea Stock and Aunt Kristin (she is the ONLY person I will put a bucket on my head for and allow to be photographed)
2. The Anson racing “family” on Dave’s A Feature Win night at US 30 Speedway
3. Alicia Boschen – High School Graduate with her Boschen Aunts and Uncles
4. Ron and Kristin – Nebraska vs Texas (in the snow)

Probably the highlight of the entire year, for Kristin, we know for sure, was Traveling to Bristol, TN to the Bristol Motor Speedway to attend the Sharpie 500 NASCAR race. I have dreamed for years and years of going to Bristol and I was NOT disappointed. I am so grateful that Dave and Rhonda Anson and our friend Pat agreed to go with us. I am so grateful for that trip. I don’t think I have been so moved then driving by Bristol Motor speedway at night trust me……..I was NOT disappointed……I will never ever forget Bristol…ever!

The highlight of home improvements this year….OUR Brand new building that is still a work in progress….but it is still a wonderful addition to our little piece of Boone County.

We have a new addition to our family…….in the form of a cat…..joining Button (the worlds most spoiled cat) is the (the worlds second most spoiled cat) McCook I will give everyone 1 guess where McCook came from! All I did was go to bathroom at our McCook Farm Equipment auction in McCook and this little tiny kitten followed me and as soon as the auction was over…….guess what I was looking for……..YUP the cat! Who is now our new baby….and a baby she is…and then there is pictured below how Button feels about this new addition.

.

Ron continues to love his business. He really does enjoy being the best business man he can and that is just fine with me. He relaxes by playing some pool, traveling, bowling, and hunting….most of all he relaxes just being home….watching Gunsmoke reruns, CSI Miami, Monk or working outside on whatever he deems the “project of the day”. Occasionally I force his to watch a NASCAR race with me….but he is more than ok with that. He is still undecided on “his driver”, but helps me cheer for mine.

Kristin continues to be the scrapping crazy woman. If she is not clerking at auctions or working on Smellrite stuff (hey it might be crap to someone else but to us it is our bread and butter) she is creating scrapbook pages….both using paper supplies and now digital…on her computer….which makes scrapbooking on the road A LOT easier! Right now I am perfectly content being a Pet mommy, a race girl, a scrapbook designer, an aunt, a godmother, and the clerk to the auctioneer and MAJOR NASCAR Clint Bowyer fan (thus the Stock family love for Mr Bowyer)…that is Mr Emporia Kansas Bowyer…….

Last but certainly not least is our annual Trip to the Kansas Motor speedway…for our KC groups including Joel and Heather Langan…..THANK YOU! It is my highlight of the fall….

Finally, We love you all very very much! For those who work with us and travel with us THANK you for being a great team, for those who are stuck back home-we think of you and appreciate all you do for us, for our families who get abused by us being gone….you inspire us and for our friends who don’t get to see enough of us…..we think of you often…..

Happy Holidays and here is to 2007

Love

This is a layout I did for a Challenge at one of my scrapbooking sites. Scrap at inanimate object and here is my Eddie Bear. I really like this layout. It is just so me. I had a blast doing this, even though I didn't win anything with it, it is still one of my favorites from the past few months.

Absent but not forgotten......................

The Nebraska Cornhusker Football team has been absent from the Big 12 Championship since 1999, but we are BACK playing against the Oklahoma Sooners.....I am totally confident in our team. It is such a pleasure to have our team back, playing for what our boys hope for. GO Huskers....do it right, bring a BIG 12 Championship home to the great State of Nebraska...cause after all...THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE NEBRASKA!

Cup banquet...

I am sooooooooooooo glad that I got to watch the NASCAR Nextel Cup Banquet tonight! I can NOT wait until February it is just a few mere 70 days away and I can NOT wait. Drivers.......Thank you for making this season wonderful. I can NOT wait to see Mr Clint Bowyer giving his speech in the top 10 next year.
