Day 59

Well today we have reached the letter J. As I watch the Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics J represents = JOANNIE ROCHETTE....my favorite Olympic Athlete for all she overcame. After losing her Mother at the games and to bounce back and win a bronze.....she is indeed an inspiration. So Beside our Very Own Curtis Tomaseviz of Shelby Nebraska, Joannie is my personal hero. I can't imagine dealing with what she did. (again I did not take this photo, but I couldn't not let the J go by without honoring Joannie).

Day 58

Today I didn't use the Alphabet prompt because I already knew what I wanted to use as my photo of the day, and it is this one. Tonight the US Four-Man Bobsled Team won Gold at the Olympics. Nebraska's very own Curt Tomasevicz was the brake man for the "Night Train" team. What a cool thing to have a kid from Shelby Nebraska on that Gold Medal winning Team. A former Nebraska Husker. A Nebraskan. An Olympian. A gold Medalist. A Hero! (I did NOT take this photo....and BTW that is Curtis with the number one finger)

Gold Sweet Gold......

for Nebraska's own Curt TomaseviczHow much fun it was to watch Shelby Nebraska Native and Nebraskan win the Gold in the Four man bobsled at the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was definately one of my favorite Olympic moments of all time. What an honor for Curt. An former Shelby Huskie, a former Nebraska Husker Football player, now an Olympic Champion and hero!!

Day 85

Not much to photograph today.......but just our Buttercup. She is SOOOOOOOO sweet!

Updated my Scrapbooking site.....

For those of you that follow my scrapbooking site, I am happy to announce that I posted my four layouts for this month! Last month I did so good scrappin but this month, has flown by and I have been so busy. I did manage to get my monthly assignments done at Gotta Pixel and those are there for you to enjoy at: GONE SCRAP CRAZY

I am not too thrilled to be leaving to go to Omaha to the 2010 Boat and Travel show. I am vowing to make the best of it. The good news is I get to ride with my friend Julie so that helps ease some of my pain. At least we can chat about girly things....like cooking and NASCAR :) hehehehehe......so here's to three days in Omaha again, again at the Qwest center. What is up with me and that place. I just as well plan on going there next weekend too :) I guess I am not so much bothered by having to go to the show or Omaha for that matter but it is leaving Cheerio that I don't much care for. McCook pretty much takes care of herself, but I know Cheerio misses us. We have our own little routine and it really messes him up. BUT I know he is in good hands with John and Cindy. I was messin around with my camera and playing with Cherrio before I left so I took some photos.......

Day 57

Again we got to the Alphabet for some assistance with today's 365 Prompt. Today the letter is I. I=INK PENS! Don't even get me started. We give these pens out to customers at Auctions, trade shows, meetings...you name it. I have so many of these pens that one day I bagged up some 50 of them and put them back in the truck....the only ones I keep are the blue ink ones.........this is ONE day of laundry and the pens I found in pants, shirt pockets, coat pockets and clipped on to MY sweatshirt :)

You are very very special to me and to know that you were in danger scared me. It broke my heart that I couldn't be right there for you, but always want you to know how much I love you! You are a wonderful father, a great husband and a super brother....I wouldn't trade you for a billion dollars.....

Even though I can get so frustrated with certain things at an auction there is one thing that makes me so proud....and it is him!

Monday, February 15, 2010

Day 46

Seriously..will it ever stop! Cheerio and I were driving home from the lake and this was mild compared to our Christmas Snow and few others since....but considering that the snow banks are high already it doesn't take much to drift and re-drift, this may be the longest winter ever.....

Sunday, February 14, 2010

Day 40

The prompt I am working off of today fit my day perfectly! This is my mess. I am deep cleaning my clothes closet and get down and dirty with everything I need to get rid of. I took everything out of it. It is amazing what a couple of hours can do to a pile like this.........

Monday, February 8, 2010

Day 39

It seems like every single day I wake up I clean off these chairs in our kitchen. Every morning they are piled high with coats, pants, shirts and occasionally my purse...but mostly all the items piled high on these chairs belong to one Mr. Stock.....however, if you look close....there seems to be some items that along belong to one Mrs. Stock.........

Day 38

I have never been much of a Super Bowl watcher until today because a kid from our Hometown is a starting Lineman for the Saints. It was awesome to watch the Saints win the super Bowl and for Scott Shanle #58 to be part of it. I did not take this photo, but this was the last play of the game and Scott deflected the final throw sending Clusters Bar and Grill in St. Edward Nebraska into a complete frenzy.....just a side note.........there are only 900 people in St Edward and yes we know Scott Shanle, he isn't just a name or a number from St. Edward, he's a real live Super Bowl hero with a Ring to prove it!

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Day 37

I sort of followed today's Prompt at Gotta Pixel. Ron was outside scooping the front entrance to our cabin and Cheerio was having a fit because he got away from him. Poor little dog sure loves that guy.....

Friday, February 5, 2010

Day 36

Today's Prompt at Gotta Pixel was to use a favorite Quote or Poem and take a picture that represents it. Well....this isn't exactly what I had in mind. But my very favorite quote and trust me when I tell you that I even mutter this to myself when I am soooooo mad......."Life is a Team Sport" by Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports. I love this quote because Life truly is a team sport!! There are so many things in life that one can appreciate more if shared with others. But this was a more serious one......One of our guys had a little accident coming down our driveway and it might look bad and not exactly the moment I was looking for but after seeing Tom and Carl trying to help John out after sliding our combine in our driveway ditch, I realized that we are so much stronger together.....then alone.........

Controversial remarks spark Las Vegas Motor Speedway invite to President Obama

By SceneDaily.com Staff
Wednesday, February 03, 2010

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is inviting President Barack Obama to give the command to start the engines for the Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup race Feb. 28.
The invitation is in response to Obama comments during a speech Tuesday to high school students: “You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices.”
The comments have caused a furor in the city.
“It’s a shame that the president doesn’t realize the impact of tourism on the Las Vegas economy,” LVMS President Chris Powell said. “Telling people not to visit Las Vegas is the same as telling them not to buy vegetables would be to a farmer in the Midwest – or telling them not to buy cars would be to an autoworker in Detroit.
“On the last weekend of this month, NASCAR Weekend at the speedway will bring in more than $150 million to the local economy. It will generate 3,000 jobs at the speedway alone. Hotels in town have reduced room rates. We’ve reduced ticket prices. And the races themselves will be a showcase of American know-how and ingenuity”
LVMS is a track operated by Speedway Motorsports Inc., whose chairman Bruton Smith has been critical of Obama policies.
Smith was asked last March if he would invite to Obama to a race.
“What? I’m sorry I misunderstood the question,” Smith quipped before saying, “We have a lot of people on the list and I really don’t know whether he’s on the list or not.”

I am not sure how President Obama telling students to save their money so they can go to college instead of blowing money in Vegas is controversial. I agree 100%!!!! There are people each day who blow their money on gambling and do they really win big....NO! Seriously, the only people making money in Vegas are the Casino and Hotel owners.......I was considering attending the Las Vegas race now......not so much. Think I'll continue to spend my money in Kansas at the Kansas Speedway and maybe drop some in Alabama or Tennessee but it sure isn't going to be Vegas........

Day 35

am going back to an older prompt for today. The day 23 prompt was  "take a picture of your biggest weakness, temptation or anything that you just can't get enough of but want sooo badly".......here is mine. I have this huge teddy bear that all I want to do is crawl back into bed and snuggle up with my big soft bear!!!! BoBo has been around for a long time and always makes sure I get a good nights rest or a nice nap too!!

Day 33

Today I wiped out my suitcase and put it away from our Mexcio trip. Under the bottom I found a tank top and nestled inside was a little tasty surprise for me! I was totally in love with these nuts in Mexico. The Tequila bar served these nuts every night in a mix and we were about to beat each other up for these. The night of the Saints playoff game I think I ate a pound of these. They are so good and I have never had nuts like these ever and I LOVE THEM!! Knowing how much I loved these Ron has found two little bags and put them in our suitcase  as a surprise for me, when we got home Ron fessed up and said he ate one bag....BUT to my happiness I found this little piece of heaven hiding at the bottom of my bag.....just last week I was complaining to Ron that I thought Customs had taken my little bag of nuts.....but here they are........

Day 32

February 1 already! I have so many things that I want to get accomplished this month....and here it is, a brand new month ahead of me to get all that done....and one busy one at that!!!!
