HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2006

As I sit here wrapping Christmas presents, listening to Christmas Carols and anticipating our first potential winter storm of the year (let it be known that I would not mind some snow)..I have been trying and trying to figure out where 2006 went and it occurred to me…..I think it might be somewhere in Kansas! For those who really watch our Auction schedule you will completely understand that comment.

We spent most of 2006 traveling from auction site to auction site, I do have to admit that it is scary when you come to a town and say “I have stayed at this hotel before”, sometimes I really MISS staying at a hotel (NOT)….ok ok I will admit, I think the fact that someone else cleans for a change makes it ok!

But traveling isn’t really as bad as it sounds. First, I think both Ron and I are getting use to being gone for weeks at a time. Here is good news, if it wasn’t like traveling with family it would be considered work….we are very fortunate to have an awesome group of hardworking and fun loving people to share our time with. We are blessed…and here is most of our blessed team and our ummmmmm blessed equipment…..AKA our homes away from home 

SO besides spending most of our time on the road…what else….in April Ron and Kristin traveled to Albuquerque NM with Kristin’s Niece Jessica and her friend Laura to sponsor the girls at the National Junior Science Conference. Uncle Ron and Aunt Kristin got to sight see, in addition to making sure that these two perfectly charming and wonderful girls behaved…..and they more then behaved…I was SOOOO proud of them. What special girls.

Putting the business stuff aside, the two of us kept busy with lots of things that we both enjoy including a summer tanking trip, lots of dirt track racing with the Anson racing team, some hunting this fall, cheering on the Huskers (baseball, football and volleyball included) , camping BUT unfortunately our trips did mean we had to sacrifice. AKA…..NO golf (which stunk), NO motorcycling (which stunk), BUT we did host friends and family at our home thanks to the pool table which seems to be the source of LOTS of entertainment.

(Below are some pictures from the summer events)
1. Andrea Stock and Aunt Kristin (she is the ONLY person I will put a bucket on my head for and allow to be photographed)
2. The Anson racing “family” on Dave’s A Feature Win night at US 30 Speedway
3. Alicia Boschen – High School Graduate with her Boschen Aunts and Uncles
4. Ron and Kristin – Nebraska vs Texas (in the snow)

Probably the highlight of the entire year, for Kristin, we know for sure, was Traveling to Bristol, TN to the Bristol Motor Speedway to attend the Sharpie 500 NASCAR race. I have dreamed for years and years of going to Bristol and I was NOT disappointed. I am so grateful that Dave and Rhonda Anson and our friend Pat agreed to go with us. I am so grateful for that trip. I don’t think I have been so moved then driving by Bristol Motor speedway at night trust me……..I was NOT disappointed……I will never ever forget Bristol…ever!

The highlight of home improvements this year….OUR Brand new building that is still a work in progress….but it is still a wonderful addition to our little piece of Boone County.

We have a new addition to our family…….in the form of a cat…..joining Button (the worlds most spoiled cat) is the (the worlds second most spoiled cat) McCook I will give everyone 1 guess where McCook came from! All I did was go to bathroom at our McCook Farm Equipment auction in McCook and this little tiny kitten followed me and as soon as the auction was over…….guess what I was looking for……..YUP the cat! Who is now our new baby….and a baby she is…and then there is pictured below how Button feels about this new addition.

.

Ron continues to love his business. He really does enjoy being the best business man he can and that is just fine with me. He relaxes by playing some pool, traveling, bowling, and hunting….most of all he relaxes just being home….watching Gunsmoke reruns, CSI Miami, Monk or working outside on whatever he deems the “project of the day”. Occasionally I force his to watch a NASCAR race with me….but he is more than ok with that. He is still undecided on “his driver”, but helps me cheer for mine.

Kristin continues to be the scrapping crazy woman. If she is not clerking at auctions or working on Smellrite stuff (hey it might be crap to someone else but to us it is our bread and butter) she is creating scrapbook pages….both using paper supplies and now digital…on her computer….which makes scrapbooking on the road A LOT easier! Right now I am perfectly content being a Pet mommy, a race girl, a scrapbook designer, an aunt, a godmother, and the clerk to the auctioneer and MAJOR NASCAR Clint Bowyer fan (thus the Stock family love for Mr Bowyer)…that is Mr Emporia Kansas Bowyer…….

Last but certainly not least is our annual Trip to the Kansas Motor speedway…for our KC groups including Joel and Heather Langan…..THANK YOU! It is my highlight of the fall….

Finally, We love you all very very much! For those who work with us and travel with us THANK you for being a great team, for those who are stuck back home-we think of you and appreciate all you do for us, for our families who get abused by us being gone….you inspire us and for our friends who don’t get to see enough of us…..we think of you often…..

Happy Holidays and here is to 2007

Love

This is a layout I did for a Challenge at one of my scrapbooking sites. Scrap at inanimate object and here is my Eddie Bear. I really like this layout. It is just so me. I had a blast doing this, even though I didn't win anything with it, it is still one of my favorites from the past few months.

Nebraska vs Colorado........

This week is the Colorado vs Nebraska Football game week, sort of a big deal here in Husker nation. After watching the news last night I am more than ready for the big game. First...what is up with the Buffs talking so much smack about the Huskers. Apparently Colorado has not learned what talking smack does to the Huskers.....did the Buffs not learn a blessed thing last year....apparently not......COME on COLORADO.... get a life with this Quote....."Colorado's Worst Season is better than Nebraska's Best Season"......We will see about that cause Colorado's season was less than stealer :)

I really really love my Eddie.....

I love my little SUV....I am here kissing my Eddie cause I love her . I

have had the same style and color of SUV since I bought my first Eddie. I am hooked on the white and tan Eddie's. I can haul all my stuff , i feel comfortable driving her and she never lets me down...I "heart" my Eddie~
I really love this picture of Ron and McCook. I didn't think that having another cat would be good, but we really do enjoy our McCook. She is one of a kind. Here Ron is reading and McCook is interested in me taking the picture. Button is and always will be our special kitty, but McCook is another great addition to our lives...now if they would just get along!

I really really really love this photo...it is so me...I am darn near tempted to use this photo in a frame for the center piece for me downstairs bathroom. This layout is real special to me. It just happened and I love it.

Thanksgiving week Already!

I simply can NOT believe that it is already Thanksgiving week. It means a short work week, but it hardly seems possible that it is that time again. I am getting the serious urge to put up my Holiday decorations and I think I might just get as much done as Ican. The weather has been perfectly lovely and it is a perfect time to get the outside decor up without freezing my fingers. I have been very lucky everyyear it has been nice when I have been putting them up and taking them down...so here is to antoher lucky weather break. I am still unsure what the holiday will bring. My family is split this year, so my mom wants to celebrate by going out to eat. That would be a first for my family and I have to admit I am not sure I am all that thrilled about it. It seems so commercial, plus we are gone so much that eating at home is a treat for us!

Ahhhh my dear nephew and Godson Eric. I did the layout for a challenge at one of my scrapbooking sites. I so LOVE this layout. I think I might pull the one picture out and scrap it seperate.....cause you can't see the cute look on Eric's face as he is getting ready to jump. This is one of my favorite layouts of the week.

Good Lord where I have been!!

OH Wait....funerals, auctions & cleaning closets and messy farm buildings. NOW I remember!

Thursday, October 19, 2006

I am so glad for being able to share some stuff.......

List 5 moments in your life that you wish you could relive...

1. Meeting my first nephew/niece, I was so honored to have met my nephew...19 years ago. 19 years ago.....I can not believe that my sweet, little boy, the one I cuddled and held like he was glass is 19 years old.

2. The first time my DH every took me to a NASCAR race. WHY, because I really don't think I have ever been speechless in my life. I couldn't move, I could barely breathe. Every single time I go racing or go to a race track I think of my Dad.....I am a race girl and proud of it!

3. Our very first auction, that we all worked together. I would enjoy it. I would soak it up....I would appreciate it more. We were so young, so full of energy......

4. The day I found out that my Best Friends son was very badly burned and I thought I was t00 busy to take care of them, I was a horrid friend and I admit it.....on a good note...it was an inspiration for me because I was a worthless friend who didn't care and it motivated me to not miss one single moment that my friends need me.

5. The day that I found out Dave wasn't going to race the 18 car anymore. I was upset. I had NO idea that he was not going to race and I was mortified. I didn't take enough pictures, I didn't enjoy each race night more......I have come to grips with it....sort of.......OK maybe not so much...

Really these are just mimimal things. I am very blessed and in the big picture........I really would not go back............unless I could relive our Cruise.....OH yeah...I would definately do that again :P

Six best and worst.......upgraded....

Six Best Things and Six Worst Things In Life

Inspired/borrowed from Auntie Cathie (AC) from Scrapjazz

The ten best things in my life have been:
1. Being a Godmother and Aunt (if I can't be a Mom...I am honored to be a wonderful Aunt)
2. Being adopted by my Mom and Dad they are irreplaceable and having my brother as my brothers, they were the best parents and brothers in the world.
3. My bestest friends in the world. .....Tommy, Sonja Krissy & Rhonda. I love them all so much! I am blessed.
4. Being married to Ron Stock, he is one terrific man. I am a very lucky wife.
5. This irreplaceable business we have, we have made it what it is today and I am proud of us....it has not been easy.
6. Our home....it is one great place to be .
7. My grandparents....they still inspire me to this day
8. My love for racing....it has brought me more joy than anyone will ever know.
9. My love for Nebraska football.....how much fun have I had cheering and crying for my Huskers.
10. Scrapbooking...that is all I have to say....

The ten worst things in my life:
1. Losing my Dad.......worst moment, day, month and year of my life.
2. Sometimes not being able to control myself
3. Stuggling so hard to learn....but it really did make me stronger.
4. One certain ex person........good bye and who cares what you said about me!
5. Dealing with my brother's divorces
6. Dealing with my brother's addiction.
7. Having my husband travel alot! Being home alone
8. Food.....why do I have an addiction to eating.
9. Not being able to call my Mom, because I don't want to listen to the negative
10. Wishing my family would call me more without being the one who has intitate it!

I had to pick and I picked a good one.......

Yup....I picked Midwest Dirt Driver Clint Bowyer as my NASCAR drive and I am very glad I did. Clint reminds of Ricky Rudd, always positive, rough if he has to be, smiling and always looking foward to a great race. His interviews rock! What made me pick Clint.........it is that Midwest Dirt Track smile and that he is so repectful and honorable. OK it is just that Midwest dirt. Dirt drivers do it best, and you Clint do........just get me a win. My DH challenged me to tell the world why I cheer for Clint...........it is because race...you really, really race. Just like Dave, it is all about racin!

I personally....

AM glad to see that Ward Burton is making a return (at least for one race) this weekend at Martinsville. When Chad Little stopped racing the John Deere car I started cheering for Ward, while still remaining a Ricky Rudd fan....I was pretty bumbed when Ward stopped racing. What am I a Jinx????? Anyway, I am glad to see him back in a cup car......even if it is for just one race....BUT.....
What about Clint? Oh NO worries, this race girl remains true to Jack!! Ummmm Clint......Clint deserves a win this year and if Clint isn't racing for the win then I can assure you that I will be rooting for Ward!

Ron took this picture of Rhonda and I at Bristol, can't you just tell how excited we were to go racing. Hard to count how laps Rhonda and I spent racing :) I have never done a completely Black and White Layout.....until now!

I don't normally post layouts here, but this layout was a total and complete accident and probably the most surprisingly satifying layout I have done for a long time. This layout brought me right back to Bristol. I remember taking this photo and just being so amazed that I could be so close to the track....I LOVED IT! I love this layout and I love Bristol!

I could not resist doing this layout about our driver CLINT BOWYER. It took Ron and I a long time to pick a driver that we both really really liked, come on the kid is a former Modified driver, he is from the Midwest and grew up racin at Lakeside Speedway.....Kansas is as close as we are going to get to a driver....so here he is....Clint Bowyer...driver of the #2 AC Delco Busch Series car, the #07 Jack Daniels & Direct TV Car and one hot #07 Jack Daniels Modified Car when he returns to a dirt track!

I had the most terrible time scrappin this great picture. I mean look at us...are we not the happiest group of race fans in the entire world. Finally, a couple of days ago......bammm it hit me and here it is. It is not perfect, but I do enjoy looking at it, brings back great memories.

I did this layout as a challenge on a scrapbooking site and I wasn't sure I was going to like this, but I did, mostly because I love this picture. It is the most moving photo, but I had alot to say about this photo :)
