Turnaround Tuesday

and I need it. I really need to shake off being so upset about my poor Button. I seriously need to lay quite with my eyes closed for about two hours, but alas....this can not be done.

RIP my little Princess....

I always wondered what it would be like to lose my first pet that was almost a part of me. We have lost Sammie, Bigsley and endless cats along the way, but it didn't prepare me at all for losing Button. I have had Button for so long, she was almost a part of me. She was my constant companion. When I was scared she cuddled me. When I was lonesome she never left my side. She was my constant source of comfort and I loved her very very very much. It is breaking my heart that she isn't here with me, but I know she was tired, she needed comfort.

THere isn't a pet in this world that can replace her. She was barely weeks old when she came to live with us for 16 years......I hardly remember a time without her. She was my princess, my little sweetie and now she is my Angel. I love you Button and I miss you so much...I missed our time together today...and McCook misses you too....even though you fought like crazy apparently you were much closer than I thought........

I love you.......Button Lynn.

Heat advisory, adios mouse house, 8 is great for Clint, pizza pizza pizza......

For those of you who insisted it has been too cool...WELCOME to the upper 90's my friends. We are under a heat advisory from today through tomorrow. WHAT a great way to celebrate this week....roasting!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I hope you sissies are happy!! It warmedup........to almost 100!!! ENJOY!!!

I am fairly sure that tonight will probably be my most restful night of sleep that I have had in years, why you ask? BECAUSE between a borrowed camper that smelled like mice and winterizing chemicals, an unstablized camper that moved when you sneezed, the untolerable pouring rain, suffocating heat and one naughty niece knocking on our door at 7 this morning....I and Ron have had a total of maybe......two hours of sleep....and probably less than that.

But No matter how tired I was...I was determined to NOT fall asleep during the Sonoma NASCAR Race, after being awake most of the night. While others don't like the Sonoma road race...I on the other hand think it is one of the best races of the season....and todays race was no different. Of Course the fact that Clint Bowyer finished 8th probably added to my excitement and enthusiasm. It was worth watching every lap!!
Thank you driver for a GREAT race!!!!

....and I think I might have overdosed on pizza this weekend. Friday night Angie ordered Casey's Pizza and tonight Ron made a Pappa Murphy's Pizza....YUMMMYYYY!!! This is NOT the photo of our actual pizza...but man was it great!

Ron's NASCAR Encounter

Here is a good story for ya all who know how much I LOVE NASCAR and proof again HOW lucky Ron Stock is and how he is always in the right place at the right time.

Wednesday afternoon Ron flew our place to Texas then he flew it to Great Bend Kansas on Wednesday night where we were doing a training for our agents in Kansas on Thursday. So he was getting ready to fly home Thursday and he was fueling up his plane and some lady was there with a camera. SO Ron asked her what she was taking pictures of....she said “I am waiting for A plane to come in, it has some kind of celebrity on it” So the guy that monitors the fuel station tells Ron....”it is Greg Biffle, do you know who he is” Ron was like “oh hell yeah I know who Greg Biffle is” So Ron was less than 10 feet from NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle. By the time he got his camera out of the plane Greg was walking away but he got some nice shots....as soon as Ron showed them to me on his camera I was like “Oh yeah....that is Greg Biffle”

Ron did say that he had to point out which one was Greg Biffle to the NASCAR Illiterate, but when he did Mr Biffle waved at him.......

Ron told me that he had the nicest smile but seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered....it was hilarious cause Ron was going to walk up to him and say Hi! Nice to meet you Greg. Tell Clint Bowyer Ron and Kristin Stock say hi!! BBBAAAHHHHHAAAAAAA.....I said I would have said “Hi Mr Biffle nice to meet you and BTW I LOVE CLINT BOWYER” hehehehehe

So maybe I WILL fly with Ron...if he is going to be hob nobbing with my drivers :)

The Big Ole Plane Greg came in on, which Ron said made our plane look like a Matchbox toy or the difference between a paddle boat and the Carnival Valor cruise ship :)

Just at Mr Biffle waved at Ron.

Bye bye Greg, see ya on NASCAR on TNT at Sonoma!

Last evening....

I saw the first real signs of summer, well the first signs that I consider to be summer. FIREFLIES in the ditch. As I was driving along I enjoyed their little twinkling light show. A little flash here and little flash there. Ever since I was a little girl I liked watching fireflies. They amaze me! They are like christmas lights in June!! Fireflies were always a true sign that the Fourth of July wasn't far away, which happens to be my favorite holiday.

Here is an interesting little factoid I found about my favorite little friends:
Fireflies talk to each other with light.
Fireflies emit light mostly to attract mates, although they also communicate for other reasons as well, such as to defend territory and warn predators away. In some firefly species, only one sex lights up. In most, however, both sexes glow; often the male will fly, while females will wait in trees, shrubs and grasses to spot an attractive male. If she finds one, she’ll signal it with a flash of her own.

But I don't live in an area where there are Fireflies. Some people also call them Lightning Bugs. Again, some interesting information about my friends:
Fireflies are found on almost every continent.
Fireflies love warm, humid areas. Because of this, they thrive in tropical regions as well as temperate zones—they come out in the summertime in these environments—on all continents except Antarctica. Fireflies thrive in forests, fields and marshes near lakes, rivers, ponds, streams and vernal pools. They need a moist environment to survive.

Some species of firefly larvae are generally aquatic—they even have gills—while others live almost entirely in trees.

So this summer as you are driving along take note of my little friends, twinkling and glowing and giving us their own summer light show.

Enough.....

of watching NASCAR Raceday.

I look forward to my weekly NASCAR fix, but I am turning it OFF!!!!!! I think even Jimmy Spencer and Kenny Wallace are getting tired of talking about the same driver week after week after week...and I am certainly tired of hearing about it....and it is NOT Kyle Busch that I am talking about. I have decided to protest and start my own nation.......

The let's talk about some other driver nation..........

Oh hell let's talk about Clint Bowyer for a while. After a couple of rough races he had a great qualifying position today for the Michigan race, so I am going to put on my race clothes, sit outside for while and then watch the end of the race and my driver....and maybe have some Cheerios.........

I am....

The Week 7 Clint Bowyer fan of the Week!! I was so excited when Andy Bowyer emailed me that I about died. It totally made my whole week!! You would have thought that I won the lottery, but it was better. (hehehe)

Here is the link to the actual write up at Clint's Website: HERE

Here is the photo I submitted to the Fan Club. You have to visit the link to read what I wrote. I answered the questions and made got a tad too touchy feely for a racing fan club but that is how I feel.
