Success Treats and Sweet Success

I am totally hooked on Skinny Cow ice cream sandwhich's. They are a tasty little treat and not too scary in the calorie and fat area. I certainly enjoyed one as a treat for finishing Organizing my storage rooom and heading toward my Scrap and Craft area. I am certain I worked this off, lifting and stacking boxes.

My Clean and Organized Scrap and Craft and sort area! It is nice to have an office with Ron but someday's I just need my own personal space to hang out in and craft and sort. Can't not WAIT to find a table for this space. I am hot on the trail of a perfect table. SO so so happy that this is done. Been working at this for five months since we moved. Still some to do but I'll get it done! I swear.
My paper and supplies look so nice. So SO happy this is done!

Some of my favorite things are back out. Gifts from Scrapbooking friends, godmother gifts and my Antique Cameras, Albums and Binoculars.

Grandma's Sewing basket safe and sound on my Scrap cabinet. Xoxo

and there you have it. My own little space clean and organized. I am happy to have my Antique Camera and Binoculars back out...I missed them!

Good days...

are sometimes hard to come by!

Our Office .... before. DANG was it a mess! UGGH!
The Mess that is our Shared Office space.

It may make a complete recovery yet....not quite done but much better.
After a busy day, I decided it was time for some homemade Goodness.

CROCK POT PORK CHOPS

Ingredients
Original recipe makes 4 servingsChange Servings

Directions

  1. In a pie plate or shallow dish, mix flour, dry mustard, and seasoned salt. Trim fat from pork chops.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dredge chops in flour mixture, then place them in the skillet, and brown both sides.
  3. Place in chops into a slow cooker, and pour the chicken and rice soup over them. Cover, and cook on Low about 8 hours.

I did not have Chicken with Rice Soup....so I used Chicken Gumbo. It gave it more of a Southwest taste. I will DEFINATELY be making this again!

Funny, how things work out but Ron decided he wanted to go to a Movie. We went to the 8:30 showing of Parental Guidance. Funny how I thought living in a "bigger" town would make the movie more packed. However, Ron and I were the ONLY TWO people at that movie. I couldn't believe we had our own "private showing" but we did. We also enjoyed the Popcorn, but then again who doesn't love movie Theathre popcorn! YUMMOOOO!!!!

I really enjoyed the movie as did Ron....and now I promised him we would go see Lincoln......

Fun and Games

It was so nice out today but instead of taking advantage of this day outside, I had to recover from what was three days of Technological hell. I could start and list all the crap I got accomplished but it would give me another headache worse then the one I had at the end of the day yesterday. Let's just say I rewarded myself with a midday game of Words with Friends. I love that game. After I got my housework and other tasks of the day done, it was time for my little break. I was so happy because for the first time EVER playing this game I used every single tile from my board on the first play....sorry to my friend Deanna. Sorry girlfriend :) Who would have thought the word Cavemen could be worth 71 points :)

While indulging myself in Words with Friends...I noticed one little brown dog sound asleep on our couch in the sun. It was so cute. He was crashed!!! He started off just looking at me then ended up stretched out and sound asleep. It was hard not to crawl over there and snuggle up with him and take a nap myself......could you blame me.

UGGGHHHHH

I am so sick of technology and all the woes that go along with updates and upgrades. I have spent two days doing nothing but technology BS and MAN have I had it. My head is about to explode. One thing is for sure....computer programming probably would not have been a good career choice for me...but as I was working on all our stuff I found this photo. Today would have been my Grandma Boschen's birthday. Just a few short years ago we celebrated her 104th Birthday, then she was gone. I miss her. Such a wonderful lady and a special Grandmother. People should celebrate the lives of those they have had so long, we are a lucky few.....xoxoxo Grandma. I bet you, Grandpa and Dad are having the best time........

Start your day

Like this and even a Monday goes great...and it did! When you wake up to this who can go wrong.

Ron always leaves very early on Monday mornings to get to the office in time for all his Monday morning meetings. Today I wanted to watch the news so I got up the same time he did. Usually I will sneak back to bed and get back up, but I decided to work on my computer and boy am I glad I did.......Good Morning Duncan Lakes.....

Daddy's Home

Ron went Ice Fishing with some buddies from Duncan Lakes this weekend and there was one little dog who was so happy to see him. He always is but this time it was particularly hard on Cheerio. He started "looking" for Ron on about Saturday morning. He was one happy little dog when Ron FINALLY got home on Sunday. I was trying to record Cheerio but pushed the wrong button so only got a picture of him whining and wagging his tail and scratching on the door when he saw his "Daddy". Two peas in a pod these two.......

Tower of Bugles

So I decided that if Ron was going to go Ice Fishing over the weekend I was going to at least have some company, so that equals me hosting a little get together at our cabin. The "Fishing widow" party. Just a casual gathering of lake friends. We have tons of unique and weird little party traditions at Duncan Lakes but this is one of my Favorites....Bugles filled with cheese. Of course my friend Tina (the original Bugle and cheese girl) brought the traditional makings. Bugles and party cheese......my favorite party stunt of the night......my friend Sarah and her tower of Bugles. YOU GO GIRL! 2013 Reigning bugle tower champion.....

Sometimes...

When I am home alone, for some reason to take more pictures than usual.

I took these for Ron, to show how Foggy it was here this morning. Never seen anything like this for a long time. (Except maybe last February, when we were trying to get home from the Airport..and that was at night), but other than that....this was one of the worst day fogs ever. I am so glad that Ron decided to leave last night for Kansas, otherwise he would have had to drive in this mess. Thank gosh I saw the dense fog advisory for Nebraska and Kansas so I could send him on his safe way on Monday..........somewhere there are houses over there, but they are gone now.

I just love to jump in my chair and have me some lunch and watch the noon news...........here's my challenge:

So as soon as he smells food :) Here's my lap visitor today. He apparently LOVES soup :) Not my cover shot for Vogue of me personally, but Cheerio looks adorable as usual.......

BCS and Trees

YES, I still have my Christmas Tree up! I HATE taking it down. My house always seem so sad a bare. This is my brand new tree I bought this year for our new to us house. It is huge and I need Ron to help me take it down. I have a feeling I am going to have to be creative and take it down by myself, however it is not coming down today..........

and there is me watching the National Championship game BY MYSELF! Don't like. To me the National Championship game is like the "Official" end of the Holiday season. Wish it would have been more of a game, but heck I get what I pay for :)

Here's what......

True Nebraska fans have for lunch on game day!!!!

Made in Nebraska....and beside Valentino's pizza is probably one of my Favorite Game Day Stadium traditions. Me hounding Ron to find the kid with the Fairbury Hot Dogs :) So today, as we approached kickoff to the Captial One bowl game versus Georgia I knew the ONLY lunch for us, short of Vals or Runza was none other than the Official Hot Dog of Husker Nation and MAN were they yummy...........FOUR Hot Dogs later.......

we were packing up our coolers and headed to watch the game with friends at Duncan Lakes. Of course Cheerio was resting on none other than his HUSKER spot....actually it was my Husker Snuggie, but I let it slide :)

Even though things didn't turn out so well for my Huskers....I am so proud of them. They played a great game! I wish we could have seen more of the half time show because Cheerio's Foster Sister Bri was dancing in the Half time show....darn it. Looking forward to that Capital One party later when we can all watch Bri dance! YEAH!

It was so good seeing my Duncan Lakes friends.......hugs all around!!!!!
