This month at Gotta Pixel, I have had the please of working with two awesome designers. My first designer was Kristmess. I certainly enjoyed using Kristmess's products. SOOOOO cute. I just LOVE the colors of this kit. On these layouts I used the kit Indian Summer by Kristmess which can be found at the following link: http://www.gottapixel.net/store/product.php?productid=24369&cat=0&page=8

My second designer of the month was Simply.scraps. I used the fun and colorful D00d Kit on the following two layouts. . I LOVE this kit. There are so many fun things to play with. Fun elements. Fun colors...just plain fun. D00d can be found here: http://www.gottapixel.net/store/product.php?productid=26618&cat=0&page=1

I used templates on all of these layouts. My layouts were starting to look the same so I thought I would jazz it up with some fun templates. The first three I used are March Winds by Connie Prince at Gotta Pixel: http://www.gottapixel.net/store/product.php?productid=27432&cat=0&page=2. The Last Layout I used Sketchology: Love being Single by Bella Gypsy: http://www.gottapixel.net/store/product.php?productid=24161&cat=0&page=1. Both Bella Gypsy and Connie has some fantastic templates in their stores. Day 119

Today I had several errands to run including finding a necklace to wear with my dress at my nieces wedding, making a scrapbook run and groceries.....so I switched everything over to my new purse that my Mom got me for my Birthday....it is such a cute purse and I love the color! THANKS MOM!

Day 118

Today was kind of my post birthday treat to myself. I went and had a nice pedicure. It felt wonderful. I also like to have pretty toes. The bonus was Annette put those cute little Rhinestones on my nails and I got to have lunch with my Mom......

Day 117

More beautiful signs of Spring! This one....the beautiful flowering Tree in my backyard at home. I love this tree. It smells heavenly and it is gorgeous!

Monday, April 26, 2010

Day 116

Today I woke up to find the beautiful, lovely smelling lilacs. Apparently, Ron picked them up on his walk with Cheerio this morning. They smell wonderful! Lilacs always remind me of my birthday and my Grandma (because our Birthdays are both in April when the Lilacs bloom) and the home where I grew up (because that is where we had bushes of them everywhere).......

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Day 115

When it comes to naptime, Cheerio always manages to make himself a little nest all of his own......

Day 114

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me!! Besides, having friends and family over for drinks and snacks......we put the Boat in for My Birthday. An afternoon cold front kept us out of the boat and by the fireplace but man I have missed our boat! It is not fancy, but we like her........

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Day 113

Leave it up to my lakehouse neighbors to take me out for a pre-birthday celebration.  Toasting my birthday with shots with the girls......

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Day 112

Had fun replacing the knobs on my cabinet today. I thought I would give them a little face lift. The one on the right are the new ones, the left...the old plain gold ones, (notice my reflection in the knob)....I really like how the new knobs look.....

My love......

is stil Diamond Rio. OMG I could listen to Diamond Rio for hours.  Your can:

Enjoy a..... NEON MOON!

Imagine That!!!

Day 111

.....socks....socks....socks....and more socks!! IT seems that there is a sock monster around here. I find two to three unmatched socks a week. So, after folding ALL of Ron Stock's socks, I said "let's go shopping" :) NOT for socks, of course, but for fun!

The Reverend Stock....

has spoken! Yes, that is correct. I have a BIG BURR up my butt today. This time, it is regarding the way that people, generally people in the service business have zero regard for people and zero manners.  This is how I felt today, even though I certainly did NOT deserve it:

Today I had to make a trip to Norfolk and I had several errands to run. I got to Norfolk and my first stop was Target where I was able to FINALLY find a cute little ottoman that kind of matches our chairs at our lakehouse. Target was pretty good, except as I was checking out there were two girls helping me and the one loaded my stuff in my cart. I looked at her and said "Thank you so much for loading that for me" so she looked at me and almost frowned. Never said "oh your welcome" or "happy to help" or anything.....

As, I left Target, I was still in a very good mood, cause I found the two things that I was looking for. Solar rock lights and my ottoman.

I headed to Hobby Lobby to see if I could find me a shelf for the lakehouse/cabin. All their furniture was on sale and I had NO intention of going there but when I heard that they had a furniture sale I headed off to find a corner shelf. I found the perfect one, along with some cool knobs for my cabinet and asked a lady for some assistance. This time it was a customer who was rude. Keep in mind she was next in line, had one roll of ribbon and I had a 99.00 shelf and about 20 bucks worth of knobs.....but man was she ticked when the lady opened a register and checked me out first. Hey.......get over it.

Finally, I headed to Wal-Mart (which is against my religion!) but I had to buy two more baskets for a organizing project I was working on and didn't feel like driving all the way across Columbus when I got home to pick one up. So I stopped a lady with a Wal-Mart smock on and ask her very nicely "pardon me but I am looking for the cloth baskets, they are with the hangers, etc....". So much for the "Welcome to Wal-Mart how may I help you". She said....we don't carry those. I said "I bought one yesterday in Columbus and they were with the hangers, irons, ironing boards, etc......they were cloth" She said "Well it must be the wrong store, I have been working here for 11 years and I have never seen a cloth basket" HEEELLLLOOOOOO lady! I just said I bought it at Wal-mart in Columbus....has she been to Columbus lately, well else in the name of the lord would I buy anything like that except Wal-Mart in Columbus. So  I said "Well Thank you for trying: and I walked off. There was no "I am sorry" "Could I call someone" "Let me show you where the aisle is" "let's go check for sure". OH HELL NO!!! I walked over the the aisle myself and guess what I found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE DAMMMMMMMM CLOTH BASKET!

It is a down right shame. No one hardly ever says the common courtesy words: Please, Thank You, Your Welcome....nothing. I felt like a down right pain in the ass, but after all I was the customer.

Now for the positive news: I then went to Shop-ko where I was treated with the happiest of smiles when I was checked out. There was a nice sweet girl at the Customer service desk who took me because all the lanes were backedup. What a treat. She was sweet. She was pleasant. She was darling. She smiled. She laughed. We talked about how warm it had gotten and how I wished I would have worn shorts. She told me to have a nice day and asked me if there was anything else I needed help finding....I almost said "Yeah your parents.....cause they taught you right. I had trouble with the card reader reading my credit card and she helped me by wiping my card with some kind of wet wipe thing....I thanked her and she said "YOUR WELCOME".

So to that sweet little girls parents....THANK YOU for teaching her right.

To mine......THANK YOU for teaching me the difference between good manners and bad. I am NOT perfect. Swear words will sneak out of my mouth. I can get mad as bullets, but most of the time, when put in a situation where I have to hold a door, say Thank you, smile and say "your welcome"........I was taught right. I will wait till every single soul exits and elevator. I will let others in front of me on a escaltor when I have two hours till my plane leaves and they have 25 minutes. I will say Thank You when someone holds the door for me and I will try my best to acknowledge when people are polite to me.

THANK YOU Mom (and Dad...RIP to one of the best role models) for teaching me to have some manners..........

Day 110

I am an organizing fool today. This summer is shaping up to be a Lakeside summer, so I am trying to get all of our stuff into our lakehouse. So I bought this shelf and cloth baskets at Wal-Mart today to organize our underoos, socks and my bras in our bathroom........I LOVE to organize and I got fair share today.....

Day 109

.......Spring has Sprung and I couldn't be happier. Tonight while Cheerio and I went for watch we found these beautiful Tulips at our neighbors house at the lake. Such a gorgeous evening.......perfect for flowers.

Day 108

Today's photo of the day..........our group leaving Las Vegas in a Shiny White Hummer Limo! How cool! I never thought a limo would take me to the airport. I was fun! I am ready to be home. We had fun, but home is where I belong........and Nebraska is where I would rather be......

Homeward Bound.....

Our Time in Lost Wages (aka Las Vegas) has come to a close. As usual, I was ready to be home. Strange that as we were leaving the CMA's were just starting and by the time we got home we were able to watch the end on TV. Just hours before that we had driven by the MGM Grand where the CMA's were held on our way to the Airport. Oh Well, but at least we got a ride to the airport in style....

This Hummer Limo was so big and shiny....

before we left the "Four Queens" had to take their photo:

Love the Non-Stop flight home. Ron and I were in the very back of the airplane by the John's (no not two dude's named John...the Crappers)....see the partial Lavatory sign below :)

We got the last laugh.........THEY unloaded the plane from the Front and Back, so Ron and I were two of the first people out. Yes, from the BACK of the plane......who knew it actually did open up! First time in my life for that.

Day 107

.....another day in Vegas. Another road trip. This time to Oatman, Arizona and Laughlin Nevada. The end to this day was a great meal at Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens. YUMMMYYY! This is myself and my friend Diana after supper with our roses. Such a gem....I love her!!!!

It's a Road Trip Saturday

Being in Las Vegas starts to wear on me after a while....so being able to take a road trip or two always passes the time a little more quickly for me. Today we took off and went to Laughlin and ended up in the Old Mining Town of Oatman, Arizona.  Before arriving in Oatman, we stopped for a heart healthy lunch at an "In and Out Burger" in Laughlin.  "In and Out Burger" has to be the home of the worlds simpliest menu.....a Double-Double Burger, a Cheeseburger, a Single Hamburger, French Fries (aka Fresh Cut Potatoes cooked in 100% Pure Vegetable Oil) and an assortment of Shakes (also made from 100% Ice Cream) and Beverages......that's it, that is your choices, so if you are not a big Hamburger fan, I would stear away from this place :)

After our heart clogging meal.....we headed out to Oatman, Arizona. A little of the history of this unique town, where Burros wander in the street and the road leading into town. Oatman began 0ver 100 years ago as a mining tent camp and quickly became a flourishing gold-mining center. In 1915, two miners struck a $10 million gold find, and within a year, the town's population grew to more than 3,500.

Oatman was named in honor of Olive Oatman, who was kidnapped as a young girl by Mojave Indians and later rescued in 1857 near the current site of the town. Oatman was served by a narrow gauge rail line between 1903 and 1905 that ran 17 miles to the Colorado river near Needles, California.

But both the population and mining booms were short-lived. In 1921, a fire burned down many of the smaller shacks in town, and three years later, the main mining company, United Eastern Mines, shut down operations for good. Oatman survived by catering to travelers on old U.S. Route 66. But in the 1960s, when the route became what is now Interstate 40, Oatman almost died.

These Burrows were hilarious! They were in the middle of the road on the way into town. The Burrows were in the street in town and obviously not a bit scared of any person. Most shop keepers provided a bag of carrots with your purchase to keep to the burrows. IT was so funny watching Ron manuveur our second rental van around these little fellas. I saw one of these burrows steal a shirt out of a woman's shopping bag. I think he might have been looking for her husband's bag of popcorn and ended up with his brand new T-Shirt in his mouth....

My find of the day was locating what I am positive is Ron's name sake (see below) :) I so wanted to rip this sign off and take it home. You see Ron doesn't have any JUNK, he has useable merchandise and collectibles...........Who knew that Oatman Arizona would hold the key to finally identify Ron's obsession with stuff.

Our Group shot in Oatman under a Route 66 sign (minus Lonnie and Carol).

Diana found a new pair of glasses for Ron.....doesn't he look dapper????

After a lengthy ride back to Las Vegas, Ron and I went out for a nice evening meal at Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino with Emery and Diana. The rest of our group either went out for supper or attended the Jersey Boys Show. It was a nice place to eat and had the most wonderful food. I had a heavenly steak with probably the best salad of my life. It was a wonderful meal. Diana and I got Roses...of course Ron wanted to know why he didn't get one.....because those only give the ladies one Ron :)
It was a nice end to a nice day.

Day 105

Today was one of those days. Managed to get the Behlen Auction over and then very rushed picked up our bags and headed to Grand Island to the airport to catch a flight to Vegas for the weekend. I was sooooo exhausted after the Behlen Auction that I thought I would crash, but I think the time change, and it being light out most of our flight kept me awake......so even though I had to pay for my Non-Alcholic drink....I had my very favorite airplane drink........

Day 104

This photo was actually taken earlier in the week, but I have been enjoying resurrecting my bread machine, that I had to upload this. It was yummy, even though it came from a box.....my next step is to make my own speciality breads from scratch for my machine. I am so glad I decided to get the old girl out.....

Day 103

Our silly McCook.......She can sleep almost anywhere and in any position. Usually with one paw over her eyes....I caught her just as she moved it......silly little girl.......

Day 102

Another day, another mess cleaned up! This was my West Bedroom BEFORE I tore into it and cleaned the Heck out of it. MAN was I tired of all that crap just sitting there, but it is gone now and all nice and clean.......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....

......dear Cheerio, Happy Birthday to you!!!! Your day did not start off too hot. From 7:30 until almost 11:00 you barked and barked and barked because the cows were out. MAN did they make you mad!! I have never seen you THAT mad before. You growled, snarled and geniunely barked your little voice out. You are pretty darn quite this afternoon, until a stray dog in the driveway had you right back at it! You stood on our bed and barked and barked and barked, while I cleaned upstairs......

UNTIL FINALLY......you got in a little birthday snooze. You must be exhausted after being outside almost an hour, barking all day and chasing the vacuum cleaner.

Meanwhile, I was so happy  to get another one of my "missions" done. Cleaning the West bedroom!! I have another full box of stuff to get rid of and was more then happy to wash up all our bedding and open the windows.

Man have Cheerio and I had a full day! Now for a little Ceaser Birthday treat tonight. YUMMMYYYYYY! We love you so very very much little doggie. You are such a treat and always manage to make each day just a tiny bit better. Happy first birthday little man!

Day 101

My two little kitty cats spending the day playing in the yard, that is finally getting green! Both of them were so dusty and dirty but they had lots of fun!!

Day 100

...it was Auction day for Alf and Rosie Glaser. It was a nice warm pleasant day and one which I kind of enjoyed. It was a long auction was kind of fun selling airplanes.......
