Friends...what friends??

My so called friends just thought they had to tell the restaraunt we ate at on Saturday night in Wichita, Kansas that my birthday was pending....THANKS for nothing guys. Thanks to our sweet Waitress who worked so desperately trying to convince me, that it was more embarrasing for her than for me...Sweet kid, but I doubt that :)

You say it's your birthday....

Today is my birthday! I can't believe it's my birthday....again. I guess if I was going to pick a Monday to have it on...this one is questionable :) I spent most of this weekend in Wichita, Kansas and the other portion either watching racing, sitting by an open fire, or driving in a vehicle. So to be home for part of this afternoon is a nice treat. Considering, it is cold, windy and wet outside....inside a great place to be.

Tick, Tock goes the local race clock.....

I am SO excited. It is only a few more hours to opening night at one of our local dirt tracks. I have been waiting since the last race of last year and it is finally here. Oh, to hear the roar of the engines and the smell of racing fuel.....ah a race girls favorite night :) It has been a long wait...and long....engineless wait, but finally! I hope all goes well for Driver tonight, if anything, he'll get that car good and turned up and dialed in. Time to hit the track.

You Didn't Forget. This is a Layout I did celebrating a Special Valentine's Gift from Ron. I was sort of Sad because I was away from Ron on Valentine's day......but as you will read......it all worked out fine.

Mom's Dessert rocks my world...

I can't believe how far behind I have gotten on my blog...already (like I didn't suspect that was going to happen) But, hosting Easter at my house I had to spend the entire week cleaning. My house looked like a dirt bomb went off, but life's good again....you can actually walk around. Well, I survived Easter dinner. It seemed like the day was sort of boring, but maybe it was all in my precious little head. I am hoping that everyone else didn't think the same thing :)
I enjoyed a brief "detour" of my caloric reduction program, but there was NO way I was missing my Mom's Hydrox Cookies Dessert. Can you say yummy! So it is back on track today! So what is the next holiday :)

Monday! You know like I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, some days are diamonds, some days are stones. This day was a pebble, an itty bitty pebble. I was fine, then I was grumpy and everything irritated me, then Wildfire came on ABC Family and now all is well in this world. It is my favorite TV show right now. LOVE Wildfire. Go visit www.abcfamily.com for more information about the show. It rocks! Tonight is the season final and I am so bummed, but I am enjoying every minute of it. I guess I was ticked cause I missed the NASCAR race yesterday...that's it, that has to be it!

Race Girls Love Spring

Race girls LOVE Spring......needless to say that I have NEVER been so excited for spring....mostly because it means the return of Dirt Track racin in Nebraska.

I just want to say one thing...because I have to post tonight because we are gone tomorrow!!

Organizing Mania!

Well....I am at it again....organizing! Tossing, sorting, selling, giving away....and it actually feels great. I did my whole office this Winter and now it is my houses turn....I can not believe how much "stuff" we have!! Lots of stuff we don't need. I have been using many of the techniques I learned about on www.scrapjazz.com at www.flylady.net.

The Flylady approach is exactly what I needed. My whole house is really benefiting from the 15 minute decluttering. Today it is my kitchen getting the 27 item throw away....here's how I adapted the throw away to benefit me. I got a box and gathered up 27 things in my kitchen to give away or sell......fortunately for me that was just my collectibles cabinet. I ended up with 36!

I am now moving on to my pantry...well see what we can pull out of there. For me.....this is a great day. Once again, I am freeing myself from all this "stuff" around me. If you haven't tried it yet, go visit Flylady and try it for just one week...you might be surprised...I was!

First time Blogging.....

I have no idea what really motivated me to starting blogging, other than a few Blogs that I have visted in the last 6 months have been extrememly entertaining and fun to visit from time to time. I am deeply concerned that I will not be able to keep this up.

First things first, I wanted to address how this Blog became entitled Diamond Daze...well you see....it all happened one night when my Husband decided to sing at our friends wedding reception....he picked out "Some days are Diamonds" by John Denver....not really an appropriate wedding song, but it stuck. Now, we refer to some days as Diamond Days and Some days as stone days....
