Day 2 - on the Vegas Adventure

After we slept off a night of wings :) and a day of hard driving....We Left Silverthorne Colorado, where we actually shopped and partied at on previous ski trips to head for Mesquite, Nevada. That was our goal. Make it to Mesquite. The farthest West I have ever driven in a vehicle was Steamboat Springs Colorado on a Ski trip (where my unnamed friends stole my car in the middle of the night to go Clubbing) :) SO I never imagined the scenery. Every mile changed. When I didn't want to look I just pullled out my I-pad or phone to Text or check my email. That worked like a charm...........this is some of the scenery while leaving near Vail.

Ron and I needed a serious breather in Grand Junction Colorado. What a BEAUTIFUL place. We really treated ourselves at ate at Wendy's :) OMG we are such adventurers. We put ALOT of gas in here thanks to our friend Joel Langan who kept reminding us that there was NOTHING after Green River for 107 miles. OMG he was right because I have NEVER seen such beautiful scenery in my life. It was worth every mile. We stopped at a Rest Stop out of Green River. It was a breathtaking view and we had the pleasure of chatting with a sweet lady and her two little dogs. The little dogs were adorable but made me miss our Cheerio boy.........here is where we stopped!

We loaded back up in the pickup and I sure wish I knew what happened to the other four pictures I took. BUT we were West bound and down.

OH the view in Utah. I had never driven through Utah but it was just amazing! There was every kind of landscape imaginable. After curves, and hills, and more curves and hills. We finally got to the I-70 and I-15 Junction which meant we were headed south to Vegas.

The whole trip we kept in contact with our Friend Joel. We finally met up for supper in Mesquite, Nevada at the Eureka Hotel. We all had a great supper at the Buffet and Ron and I walked back to our hotel across the street and got to wave goodbye to our friend Joel.......

Ron, Kristin & Joel.
After saying our goodbyes to our friend Joel. Ron and I found out that the hotel/Casino had a bowling alley! NOW that is a first. Neither one of us are that into Gambling, so we did something we love.....we went bowling! I held my own. I so could have beat Ron in the first frame if it wouldn't have been for my sweating palms :)

Ron and Kristin Bowling.....THAT"S it! NO more Camera phones..........
